Wolcen: Major Content Patch

If you haven't already heard, Wolcen just dropped a huge 1GB content patch yesterday (6/24/2019). They added a lot of good stuff, and they are really moving along in the development path.  If you haven't heard of "Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem" before, it is an Action RPG similar to Diablo III that is being developed for Steam by Wolcen Studios.  On a side note, it is on sale this week for 20% off!

ATLAS: Present and Future

We have been at it since day one, that ugly and...well, let's just stick with ugly...launch. Even through the lag muck and server instability, you could read the stars and see the potential.  Right off the bat it was only for the tough, and we barreled through the glitchy log-ins, the shaky starter zones and the wretched "lawless" starting areas and found our way to the rafts.  Some were able to get to our island after 3-4 hours of learning how to tack, zig zag and fight through server borders and with a full stack of human hides, and then some were finally rescued after what seemed like days of being eaten alive by scorpions and crocodiles, only to quickly get used to dying to the cold, the wolves, the alpha horses, the water, the sharks and each other's general noob mistakes.
Yes, with the known developer, we did try to ARK it, or Dark and Light it...hell, we've even tried to Life is Feudal this one....and Atlas is just NOT those games.  Some visuals and sounds are there, but the depth and options and functionality is just SO much more.  What really took the game from just another ARK expansion to, the potential mmo of the decade, was getting out on our first schooner, the SS Skjoldr (video below).  The experience was entirely PvE, but when you have 13 people packed on to a single vessel and the guys repairing the ship are as vital as the helmsman steering and the deckhands manning the sails, it became something I haven't seen in a game since our friday night flights on the Decimator back in SWG.
We have had just a blast learning the game and surviving our island and our neighbors over the past couple weeks.  Though it may appear as if we are well off enough, growing from 30 actives day one, to more than double that now, we absolutely could use more folks interested in living the Atlas life.  Whether you are interested in navigating the high seas, captaining a brigand, farming the tundra, mucking through politics, taming elephants or exploring the massive (30-40 hours of sailing from one end to the other) world, it is all here and we have many members willing to help you get started.

does COTP have a city? anyone even still play the EMU? me and a friend have been goofing around waiting on the swtor expansion to come out... have a tk and working on a BH right now.

I've just gotten back into playing (again), and would be up for getting into the guild on Basilisk if anyone else is still playing. As for city, no idea if we have one. Didn't know we had a presence here until I started looking for some macros. lol

We had a city on Lok, but It is probably gone by now.  Most of us are waiting for JTL, although I heard the other SWGEmu has JTL now.

As far as I understood (based on in passing reading, so take with a grain of salt), JTL is still a year or so away. Long time to be waiting and not playing a game. :P lol

I'm around, I have Danicka Darkstar (TK/Doc) and Cheever McFarlane (Crafter) started and going. Got work until about midnight EST but if anyone is around I'll probably be on trying to figure out how to get a mod or two to work.

played a bit on bloodfin, it has  limited JTL, no enemies  in space  but they have a hidden dungeon in space... never made it very far, they allow way too many characters. like 4 characters an account 2 or more accounts per ip and give you 30k to start. money is like nothing there even starter items are hundreds of thousands of credits :(

My brief research into SWGReborn leads me to believe it is a server post NGE which means it is SWG after it got wowafied. something people should know  as most people want pre NGE SWG.

I am ok with pre-cu, but I prefer SWG CU which is right before NGE.  The combat classes were better balance with CU.

swg reborn is NGE,  most of the others that i've seen are pre-CU. there is one still in the works that kind of combines the two.. its interesting but not alot of people there, farstar-reborn. it has a "force sensitive" class that can become jedi or sith, jedi being tanks and sith being dps... not sure if JTL is up and running. 

i would check out swgreborn , but it looks like you have to overwrite a bunch of files, and i don't want to install swg multiple times on my computer.

swgreborn is 100% nge just checked it out, its still in beta, the questline seems to be broken, pretty much the only way to level is grind old school style, or use the frog. has JTL,  after reading on the forums, its laggy, and some of the hitboxes are out of place. i havn't managed to find  ship parts to let me actually go into space only use it as fast travel. oh and the pilot trainers as far as i can find are non existant.. so its either  instant master or don't fly.  was in eisley couldn't find  the neutral trainer, going to look for the factional later...

I tried SWGReborn a month or two ago and got bored and quit after only a couple of days....just like the official NGE when it released. I thought it would be interesting to give it another shot all these years later, but it just reminded me of how boring it was.

I still hop on SWGEMU every few months when I need my SWG nostalgia fix, but usually don't stay too long. I'm waiting for the game to finally launch, but who knows how long that will be. I've been playing it off and on since 2008.....and it's 2016 next week. lol
