Relaed
Artifacts are powerful items in the game, there are too many to list, but the first one is the most important.I heard the other day that the first artifact you get is from a quest in Blackdagger ruins, "Artfiact Facts"You can get this quest around level 21, from Sgt Knox in Enclave. It is easily forgotten about as you can power level right passed it, but should not, as with many characters, my mage sits at level 28 with no artifact 8-) So get cracking, get that artifact if you don't have it! << More Information here. I received the quest when I returned from completing Black Dagger Ruins from Sgt Knox, who sends you to the Elder Reader Laris for the quest. Then you have to go back to Black Dagger Ruins and run the Cragmire Barrow - " Near Blackdaggger Keep lies the ancient barrow...." Once complete, you get to chose from one of the artifacts above, but which to select? Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue: Waters of Elah'zad THE LANTERN OF REVELATION Most people go for the Waters of Elah'zad because it is a reusable and additional heal. Melee Damage Dealers should take the Lantern. Tanks take Waters. Good Luck! Edited February 7, 2017 by Relaed

Relaed
Gr8ful pointed me to starter artifacts at level 60. Search for Seldarine, they are uncommon artifacts, and Lathander's Cloak. All artifacts need to be refined like enchantments, using different materials. Interestingly enough, the Belt of the gives a double refine bonus if you use other green belts over L60 as refinement inputs. And the Cloak gives double for neck items. Relaed
Ever notice that some artifacts give bonuses to different things you put into them for refining? Use your seals and load up on the right ones for faster refinement of the artifact, or purchase the items you need from the AH Examples: Artifact Belts - they give a 2x bonus on appropriate level equipment belts that you refine into the artifact. Relaed
Though I have yet to do all of the campaigns, each campaign zone offers its own reward items. Sharadar: At level 60, Sharandar can be unlocked, and the zone offers you for purchase of just 50 zone currencies each: The Cloak of the Seldarine and the Belt of the Seldarine. They can be found at the vendor near the campfire when you first enter the main camp. These two artifacts are widely used for their stat boosts and healing ability when you have all 3 of the set. They can also be sold on the Auction House for around 5000 AD each, but they do not and would not sell, because there are the better versions - Greater Belt and Cloak of the Seldarine that sell for the same price, but the Greaters require Level 70, and we are talking about prior to level 70 here. The 3rd piece is The Emblem of the Seldarine, a regular artifact, a dropped item from Malabog's Castle. It has no level requirement, but as a drop only item, there are not many, and currently sell on the auction house for 40k AD. Work to get the initial set as soon as able, and level it up through refinement. Sharandar campaign gives you the ability to make Fey Blessing Enchantments, with them equipped, you have a good chance of getting bonus loot with drops that are enchantments, that you can refine into the artifacts, get them as high level as possible, and when you are level 70, and can earn or buy the Greater versions, use the original versions to refine them into the greater versions for no loss of refinement points. Relaed
Lathander's Belt and Cloak - these are purchasable from the Dread Ring Vendor. You will need to earn currencies in the dread ring to purchase them.
Relaed
Two Weapons are Better than one. Three things to remember for artifact weapons: 1. You can transfer most of your refinement progress by refining the old weapon into the new weapon. 2. You will lose any unlocked artifact abilities on your old weapon, but your new weapon maybe stronger, check the item level 3. Artifact weapons rank 15 and above always refine into other artifacts as if under the affect of double refinement, so no need to wait for the event. Trick here is that you can pick up a cheap artifact weapon, refine it up to level 15, the roll it into your better weapon for double refinement. Good Luck!
