Valheim is hottest new survival and exploration game.

Valheim is a game about exploring a huge fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Viking culture. You start your adventure at the relatively peaceful center of Valheim. The further from the center you travel, the more challenging the world becomes. But you will also find more valuable materials that you can use to craft deadlier weapons and sturdier armor. You will also build your own Viking strongholds and outposts all over the world. Eventually, you will build a mighty longship and sail the great oceans in search of exotic lands … but be wary of sailing too far...
    Key features:
Huge procedurally-generated world - explore and inhabit mystical lands, from mysteriousforests to imposing snow-topped mountain ranges and stunning meadows, complete with their own creatures of legend to battle and wildlife to hunt. Co-op PvE (2-10 players) - - Whether you want to brave the lands alone or venture with trusted allies, Valheim supports independent, player-hosted servers and unlimited world creation. We recommend playing co-op with 3-5 players. Punishing dodge & block based combat system with a wide range of weapons Build & sail ships - from flimsy rafts to imposing warships, build legendary vessels to conquer the seas and discover new lands. Summon and defeat vengeful primordial bosses of myth and legend, and collect trophies to progress and craft new powerful items Flexible house and base building system - raise mead halls, farms, settlements outposts, castles and more. Intuitive item crafting - forge the finest weapons and armour, and craft food and mead. Dedicated server- for players who want to run a persistent server. https://store.steampowered.com/app/892970/Valheim/

Crypt Space Commander(CSC) A Space Sandbox MMO

CSC is an open-universe, sandbox-style space MMO with a player-owned economy. Command starships and earn digital items to buy, sell, or trade without limits both inside and outside of the game universe. Experience a free-market Play-to-Own Economy that provides true ownership & freedom.
    Starships
In CSC you, our Commander, can own and operate your very own starships. Starships come in all shapes and sizes and are specialized in either mining, combat, trade, or exploration. Starships in CSC can be endlessly customized with modules. Modules can add or upgrade existing ship functionality from shields and weapons to FTL drives.
    Economy
Almost everything in the CSC universe can be crafted from resources openly available in the universe. The smallest shield module up to a universe-wide jump gate network can all be made with the right materials. Create new technology and share it freely for the good of the federation or sell it for the right price.
    Crafting
The crafting system is uncapped, allowing players to continually improve on the quality of their crafted items. Specialization is encouraged by the CSC crafting mechanic, rewarding players for focusing on specific items & allowing them to create truly unique and valuable starship weapons or other components.
    Exploration
Rules are merely suggestions in some parts of space. Areas under GFI protection do exist, and are open to explore and mine to your heart’s content, but the best loot is out there in Fringes of Space. Beware, dangers of all kinds are in the fringe: creatures, pirates, rogue Commanders, and faction governments. Those brave enough to venture deep into Fringe Space however will find an abundance of rare resources, larger bounties, and more lucrative quests.
    The Current Game State
CSC is a game in development while in Beta with core game features implemented. As a starship Commander you can command your ship, explore 40+ star systems, mine for resources that can be used in manufacturing/workshop, combat NPCs for loot and resources, and play along with other Commanders on our LIVE MMO server.

Dependin on how much they charge for it, I'm definitely up for this one.  It's been on my radar for a while.  Surprisingly it really hasn't been marketed much, but I expect that will change once the Early Access is live.  I still think Ark: Survival Evolved has been the best game I've played yet on Steam.  I've invested more time in Ark than hundreds of other Steam games combined. If these devs are anything like the team that built Ark, they may have a shot at something amazing with Atlas.

EDIT: Damn, selling it for $25 from what I hear.  Sold! ;)

You want to see something entertaining? I ran across this a few months ago... They thought it was going to be an Ark mod. ;)

This may be the game to breathe some fire back into the community.  The other games on our radar list won't be out for a while, so we should try to push this one.  This would be a good time to send out the community newsletter.

I loved Ark,  the only complaint that I heard about that game, was about the server caps, so, a survival MMO with a scale that allows for 40,000+ simultaneous players in the same world is remarkable to say the least.

I am going all in on this one and I encourage others to do the same.  Let's go in hard and rock this thing.

      Agreed.

While I also agree, alot while depend on the depth of MMO elements.  Outside of building ships and PVP what else does the game offer.  There are many elements that I expect in a robust MMO that I have yet to hear anything about in this game.   Without going into what elements are expected, I will continue to monitor and hope that they do more than was done in ARK.

Personally I am all for a delay if it means they will release a better quality game into Early Access (EA). If they were to drop it on the originally planned date and it had major issues, people would go ballistic and tear the game to shreds in their reviews. IMO the devs are smart to avoid that and wait until they are confident that the game will be solid for EA.

Say what you will about the "Early Access" world these days, but it has clearly become the best way to go for developers. The main difference between "Alpha/Beta Testing" and EA is that there is usually a cost associated with it. However, the funds from EA are funneled mostly into the development of the game. It allows players to try the games before release and contribute to the development process. Ark has been wildly successful despite all of the naysayers, because at the end of the day they delivered a solid game. Do I wish the DLC's were free? Yes, absolutely. At the same time though; I understand why they needed to do it that way. Developing games is extremely expensive at this scale. Think about this: the people who complain about DLC costs are the same people who spent $15 (or more) every single month for MMORPG's back in the day. How many hundreds or thousands of dollars did you spend on subscriptions while playing games like WoW, EQ, etc.? Personally, I'm completely ok with paying ~$30 for Atlas when it comes out. It doesn't bother me one bit, because I know that I'm paying towards the development of what I hope will be another amazing game. I've put more time into playing Ark than I have in hundreds of other Steam games combined. To me, that makes the $29.99 (or whatever I paid for Ark back in the days of their EA) absolutely worth it. Same goes for all the DLC. Some were definitely better than others, but each time it renewed my interest in Ark when I would have otherwise been burned out on the game.

The delay is for the best, but I had this week off, so i had plenty of time to play it.   I wish we had more info about the game, but if it's like Ark then it should be good.

I agree, this is absolutely what we need at this point....FO76 was such a "disappointment" considering the fact that it wasn't really anything related to an MMO.

The above video is fairly informative at the beginning, but get's really unreasonable in his critiques of ARK.  He really lacks perspective, and this is likely a generational issue.  Being able to compare MMO's back to their infancy gives many CotP members a bit of an edge when it comes to appreciation of good work.

Ok so "early access" means we'll be the first ones playing and testing it?  How developed is this game?  Has this game been played by anyone yet besides the devs?

Do you guys really believe 40k people can be on a server at once and the game be playable? I'm skeptical any game can support even a fraction of that, especially a large scale pvp battle.  Very few games can pull that off.

Is there going to be a subscription on top of the $30, or is that it? Is there going to be any sort of cash shop?

Do we know anything about combat classes or crafting?

Most importantly, how many of you will be there on day 1? I'm DYING to play a good game with you guys, so if you guys think this has any chance of being decent at all, I'm in.

In one of the interviews they said they could hold large numbers, since it's not memory intensive in a mostly oceanic world, not much rendering to be done with the ocean and all the open sea between the island masses.

Also, they said that players would be spread out throughout the world on the different islands, as most people or guilds will want to claim their own land areas to call home and build up.

They further stated that if there was a huge number of players battling in a single spot, with many more players on the way, they were going to have some situation (event, not sure) where other's cant make it to that exact spot, but would be fighting on the outskirts of it,  in several places.

They supposedly have some new server technology, that can stitch together high populace areas, by utilizing the power from the low populated areas of the world, at the time of a huge battle. We will see how that works out or doesn't.

Hopefully there will be enough of us jumping in day  one and working hard to get us a fair sized ship built up soon as possible and sail to find us a new home to build up.

All they have to do is spawn up a few well placed hurricanes to force reinforcements to fight it out amongst themselves in a different area.  :)  Mother nature [devs], can manage populations if they plan ahead for situations.

No subs, but there will be a cash shop for cosmetic items....not sure if it will be up at launch though.

As for the early access....it'll mean dealing with bugs and other crap, but when you're online with a bunch of friends, you can generally find a workaround together.

We were there for the EVE launch, the DAoC, SB, SWG and WoW launches....and pretty much every launch since.  The bugs and glitchiness has generally been the same, even counting Steam's "early access" MMO's.....I'd say if there was anything close to a perfect launch, it was LotRO.

How much of Atlas is even implemented right now?  IS the full game being released for early access or only parts?  Any word on combat or crafting classes?

Yehosha, only thing I've seen about combat so far is this article:

Tactical melee combat systems with blocks, parries, dodges, character motion, optional shields, stunning and strength-varying strikes, directional attacks, and more for use in either first or third person perspectives. Fists, swords, maces, blackjacks, daggers, and much more give you tremendous options to pick the right weapon for the job. Meanwhile, period period-appropriate-weaponry with skill-based active reload systems include flintlock pistols, muskets, blunderbuss, and more — just be sure to keep your powder dry!

As far as I can tell for crafting, it should be very "ARK-like"....I expect to see many re-used models and sounds similar to what we saw in Dark&Light.

@Throne , You said this guild has been at several launches and you mentioned SB. Is that Shadowbane? Me and my son loved that game and haven't enjoyed an MMO together more than that one. I was excited when the creator of that MMO started a new MMO called Crowfall.

Yep, Shadowbane was a good one.  I wasn't into it as much as many other CotP members, but Crowfall is something many of us are heavily invested and have large expectations for.

Yep, I bought into Baron level in Crowfall and added more stuff, also at Young Hero pledge in Camelot Unchained and a mid-tier in Ashes of Creation. I was pretty gullible back in 2013 and got into Star Citizen, embarrassed to say, at the Grand Admiral level......dang.

Is CoTP going to have much of a presence in Atlas? It doesn't seem very strong right now.

This is tough to predict anymore....we had hundreds in Black Desert and only a couple dozen in Dark&Light.  What does stay fairly consistent is that we won top billing on both servers.

Our overall membership statistics aren't promoted well on the forums, but when I send out the newsletter, it'll go out to 12 thousand individual emails.

ARK snuck up on us and we went for private servers almost from the start, but guild-wide it's been a strong game for us for years, so I'd guess we'll be anywhere from 30-50 players strong on day 1.
