    1. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1700755582/myth-0 I figured I would post this here, as I am a big fan of board games, and a big fan of the MERCS game these guys have made. MERCS is a table-top miniature game like Warhammer 40K, or Warmachine, only smaller in scale (5-man squads rather than armies). http://www.mercsminis.com/ The game is very fun, and very easy to get into/learn. The thing that attracted me the most was how quickly it was to play a game compared to other table-top war games. A squad of 5 MERCS vs 5 MERCS takes about an hour, and offers as much variety/tactics as most other war-games. Their new product MYTH, is looking to shape up quite nicely. I have a great amount of experience in games like Descent (1.0 and 2.0), Arkham Horror, and other board games. (Betrayal at House on a Hill, Small World, Ticket to Ride). So far what I am seeing from this game is showing me that they have taken a good amount of ideas and information from those other games and are turning this into something that is Fully Cooperative for all players, easy to play and understand, and likely to go quickly. My biggest complaint about Descent, Arkham Horror, and other games was the 4 hour games they made. Yes we had fun, but dedicating 4 hours to a single game made it difficult to pull out very often. MYTH is looking to be much faster. I am going to recommend this game to people that want something family/friends can play and so far seems themed somewhat similar to the Torchlight series. They have a gameplay video (part 1) up and will have Part 2 in the next few days. http://youtu.be/T5c0Vq1yjQ0 Some of you might not be fans of kickstarters, which I understand. In this particular case, I have experience with the company in their MERCS lineup, and know the quality and communication these guys strive to achieve. I have no problems backing them, as I have already played with their other products already, and have communicated with them heavily in the past via their MERCS forum. Out of all the kickstarter projects I have backed (12), so far only two have been disappointing in their ability to deliver. One due to manufacturer problems, and the other because he didn't clearly state his intention to make the product himself. I'm currently pledging in at the $100 level to get the game, and any unlocks/pledge levels that appear. (Extra figures/promotional figures) It looks like it will be delivered in Jan 2014.
    2. Reaper Miniatures has a kickstarter going to upgrade their Bones lines of Miniatures. This is a cheap and easy way to get minis that are ready to paint upon opening, little to no assembly, and much more durable. The kickstarter is well past its goal, but they keep adding more free minis. At this point the best purchase is probably the Vampire level now sitting at 133 miniatures for $100 bucks. Yes... $100 bucks. I've painted on the bones line before. The detail is very good, and it holds paint very well. I didn't even have to prime the mini's before I started. They have a whole bunch of extras you can add-on for if you want... steampunk dragons... giants... demons... etc.. Take a look!
