    1. When the first ArcheAge was released, it was a huge chapter for COTP. The initial game hype was off the charts, and we had a lot of fun at first... Unfortunately they had some pretty big missteps with the release schedule and some content that was not released as planned (or poorly handled). A lot of the issues with the game can be attributed to conflicts between the original Korean developer XL Games and the USA publisher Trion Worlds. Over time the game went F2P and quickly became a Pay2Win game. Let's just say that the community was unhappy with the direction of the game. Enter GamIgo Games! Last year Gamigo Games purchased Trion Worlds and acquired the ownership rights of ArcheAge. As a direct result of all the community backlash, they decided to release a completely different version of the game. By popular demand, ArcheAge Unchained is going to be a completely separate game on its own, and they are eliminating the big P2W problems. ArcheAge Unchained is being released on October 15th, and it will be a Buy 2 Play model. You pay the initial game cost up front, and after that there will be no subscriptions or "Premium monthly costs". The only items for sale in the "cash shop" will be 100% cosmetic, and anything game impacting from the original ArcheAge game was removed. For example, the game was due to come out the last weekend in September, but Gamigo Games decided to delay the game for more PTS testing. The big change they were working on was to make all cosmetic items Bound on Pickup / Purchase. They wanted to avoid anyone buying cosmetic items for RL money and then selling them on the in-game marketplace to earn gold. Many people in the community saw this as being slightly Pay 2 Win, so it was removed from the game! Here is a good video talking about the upcoming release of ArcheAge Unchained, and some history of the original game: At this point we don't have any official plans of a COTP Chapter, but we will certainly go that way if we get enough people interested! If you want more information, here is the full copy / paste of the FAQ from the official ArcheAge Unchained forums:
    2. Fallout 76 is live right now. It wasn’t supposed to go live until midnight last night but it’s arrived early so a few of us started our journey through Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic MMORPG yesterday. So far, it is playing more like a Fallout 4 co-op with a new ((much larger) map than the pvp mayhem some were expecting. I did run into a few brave souls who wanted to tangle early on, but not much came of it as there are protocols that keep open pvp from being too deadly until after you reach level 5. I crashed twice in 10 hours, and my 4 yr old system held up nicely on ultra graphics (I7 - RX 480 - 32GB Ram). The base building is unique and interesting. Pieces snap much more smoothly than I remember in FO4. If you find a unique plan (blueprint) like a crafting station or furniture, you can help your team out by building it for them on their camp (base) and they'll get to keep it, even if they move their base around. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L system has been revamped with cards you can use to customize your characters perks and abilities, e.g. Guild Wars. I didn't see it as a minus or plus, just something new to figure out and maximize for the way I play the game. The difficulty was typical of Fallout games, where it can be a challenge for moderate gamers and daunting for casual gamers new to the Fallout franchise. Good times are always best shared, and this game is no exception....running around with a team is much more enjoyable, however the game does not diminish whatsoever when it comes to making progress solo. So far, it has my endorsement. Join us in discord https://discord.gg/ar8NGD or on the forums
    3. So for those in the 57-60 range, I am posting this for you. I have been leveling at Gahaz and unfortunately I don't spreadsheet like a lot of people do but these are just my thoughts and personal views. Bandits is still very good EXP, not the best, but still very good. They are still HUMAN for those who don't know "Elixir of perfect Human Hunt" basically turns you into a god vs human mobs.http://bddatabase.net/us/item/671/ Low contested areas, high mob density, plenty of rotations, I have one by the cliff i adore .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tedqlDkxHSo Plenty of loot, trash drops I average 14-18mil per hour. Plus you get plenty of crystals as well as pila fe scrolls. If you are under 185ap 250dp stay away from the Shadow of Gahaz mob. She hurts... badly. I'm sure I am missing some but this is just a general shot out letting you guys know you can level at other places, no desert debuff at bandits, close to shakatu, you get the villa buffs. It's an amazing spot especially for those of you between 155-180 ap. Any additions just let me know.
    4. Hey guys! For those of you who don't know, I'm Gammon, the recruitment officer of Cotp. Most of you do, I'm just checking, shut up. I hate you. Recruitment is going exceeding well. We have a lot of new people, some skilled, some learning, all awesome. The FC as a whole is doing the best we've ever done, all our new recruits are meshing well with the oldies but goodies. And I see a lot of people helping eachother in FC chat and mumble. So I wanted to say you're all doing a great job, and I'm really proud of our progression as a team. I am continuing our active and aggressive recruitment spree to get our numbers up to where a proper Cotp chapter should be. I update bi-weekly, but it would be very helpful if some of you can bump my threads in order to keep them active and fresh. There are recruitment threads up at the following websites. Gamer Escape - http://gamerescape.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=23 Zam Forums - http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=238 Reddit recruitment forums - http://www.reddit.co...XIVRECRUITMENT/ FFXIV company forums - http://forum.square-...s/652-Companies FFXIV Leviathan forum - http://forum.square-...s/827-Leviathan FFXIV Blue Garter forums - http://www.bluegartr...any-Recruitment FFXIV Realm - http://ffxivrealm.com/forums/north-american-server-forums.128/ These posts will need to be bumped periodically, every week or so. So while this is not mandatory, if anyone would like to say something nice about the guild in each thread, that would be very useful. I'll post a copy of my recruitment letter in the comments below. That is all. Additionally if anyone knows other websites worth putting recruitment threads up at let me know, or feel free to copy my post below and put it up yourself. Just make me or Arsenix aware of it. Thanks. ~Gammon

    7. After quite a bit of research, I finally have a working draft for my "FFFXIV Beginner's Guide". You can find it listed in our Tutorials section at: http://www.covenantofthephoenix.com/forums/tutorials/article/141-ffxiv-beginners-guide/ Please let me know if you have any suggestions or comments regarding the guide. I will continue to add more content to it this week, but I wanted to at least get this much of it posted for review. There was a lot of information out there that I tried to confirm with the official sources whenever possible. It's worth a look even if you aren't a new player in FFXIV, as there was a lot of information out there that I didn't know about before I read it.
