The text after the @ is your "@handle". It's essentially your player name in the game. Character names aren't unique in Neverwinter, they're tied to your @handle. So, for example, my character "Snarla" is really "Snarla@xtropian". There could be any number of Snarlas in the game with different @handles. The @handle is unobtrusive, so it doesn't show up in chat or onscreen. It shows up when you inspect, whisper or mail someone, though. :)

the @name is your account name, so in the above example snarla@xtropian snarla is the name of the toon he is playing @xtropian is his accounts name.  so if he created another toon on the same account it would read newtoon@xtropian.  several functions in the game work off the account name since its the only unique name you have.  there can be several toons in the game called snarla but only one @xtropian. the easiest way to find your @name is to go to the mailbox hit compose and click on the to section, a tooltip comes up explaining how to mail stuff to yourself and it uses your @name in the example.

Even easier way: right click on your character portrait at the upper left of your screen. Will pop up a window that has your character name @ handle and the options to inspect yourself or your companion.
